Chinese Medicine and losing Weight – Part I

Weight loss is a multilayered subject.

First, don’t stress too much about it. If you want to lose some kilos (and your doctor agrees), look at it as a journey, rather than a destination. It’s not so much about ‘I want to get to XYZ weight but rather, I want to introduce some subtle changes into my diet.

There are many, MANY diets out there that promise you the world and they might work very well for some people and not at all for others such as: eat only during specific hours, only (or don’t) eat certain food groups, have a daily calorie limit ..

My recommendation: start the way you want to keep going. Don’t do anything extreme. You won’t be able to sustain it and your body might go into survival mode: shutting down as it thinks you are about to starve ..

Start with a food diary (boring but so useful) – and DON’T CHEAT!

It’s not about shame and blame, but you need to know what your weak spots are in your diet, where you can introduce changes and which time of the day is a tricky one for you.

Next week we talk about what to do with those diary entries ..
