Plantar Fasciitis

The sometimes excruciating pain can be at the center, inside, or outer side of your heel.

Possible reasons are

  • heel spurs (little calcium deposits)

  • an inflammation of the plantar fascia, that fibrous tissue that connects the heel bone to the toes

Electroacupuncture is a highly effective way to release Qi and Blood stagnation that leads to this sharp pain.

An often overlooked area of treatment is the calf.

Knots and contractions in the calf commonly pull the fascia tight. After releasing these muscles, we gently work our way along the Achilles tendon down to the heel of your foot, and bit by bit we relax and restore elasticity to the fascia.

You can do your part by warming up the calf area before exercising, (i.e. by rubbing in warming liniment), having warm Epsom-salt baths, and gently stretching the tendon after exercising.
