Back Pain and Acupuncture
Back pain can take up so many different shapes and forms. It can affect the neck area, the shoulder blades, upper/ middle lower back.
Everybody has suffered from some form of back pain from time to time, but what to do when it becomes a chronic or severe issue?
In Chinese medicine, back pain is either a
Stagnation of Qi (Energy) and Blood
or a Deficiency.
What is important for a successful Chinese medicine treatment:
Location and type of pain (sharp or dull)
Triggers (movement, heat or cold)
Duration (chronic or acute pain)
can tell you a lot about the origin of the problem. and the type of treatment needed.
(Electro-)acupuncture, cupping, sometimes moxa, and even herbal formulas can help moving that stagnation and nourish and tonify the affected area.
