Chinese medicine and the Prostate

The prostate gland forms part of the male reproductive system.

With advancing age, it can become enlarged, and as it wraps around the urethra, creates an urge to urinate often (day and night), difficulty to start urinating, dribbling and possibly pain amongst other symptoms.

In Chinese medicine, any enlargement, be it your belly, a puffy face, or, in this case, the prostate, is usually caused by the Chinese medicine pathogen, ‘Damp’. Damp blocks free flow, which in turn causes pain.

Other pathogens, such as Phlegm, Heat or Cold can aggravate existing symptoms. You will have to remove the Damp and other opportunistic pathogens while addressing any deficiencies that allowed Damp to establish itself in the first place.

Acupuncture and herbs are your friends 😊
