Chinese medicine and Sage (Root) Tea

The root of the red sage (Salvia Miltiorrhiza), called Dan Shen in Pinyin, is another of these amazing herbs.

Amongst other things, it is often used when there are symptoms linked to gynaecological problems, heart/cardiovascular issues like palpitations, insomnia and more.

Why?

Dan Shen belongs to the Chinese medicine category of ‘Blood invigorators’ and it is bitter and slightly cool. So wherever there is Stagnation, possibly combined with Heat, Dan Shen will gently move and cool the body fluids.

As you might know, Chinese medicine never uses single herb treatments, but only herbal mixes in order to enhance the desired outcomes and minimize potential side effects.
