Chinese Medicine and Muscle Cramps

My faithful blog readers know by now that any type of pain in Chinese medicine is Stagnation – either of Qi (energy) or Blood.

In the case of muscle cramps, the stagnation is based on a deficiency, again, either Blood (more common), Yin, or Qi.

Blood nourishes the muscles, if that nourishment is missing, the muscles cannot work properly.

If the cramps happen more frequently at night (time of Yin), you probably have a Yin deficiency as well.

A Blood/ and Yin-rich diet together with acupuncture and some herbs to kickstart your regeneration might be a good idea 😊
