… and Keep Hydrating

Though the days in our Southern Hemisphere are slowly becoming shorter, we still get smaller cyclic heat waves – as right now with 34 degrees. At the end of summer, it is easy to forget to drink enough fluids and protect yourself from the sun.

Fluids, similar to Blood, belong to Yin, the cooling and nourishing part of the body. Fluid deficiency will give you a fast but shallow pulse and make you feel dizzy and sluggish even if you stay away from direct sunlight.

If you find it hard to drink more liquids, maybe add a few cucumber/lemon slices to your water or a few drops of orange juice. Many people find it easier to drink if their water is slightly flavoured.

And of course, coffee, pure fruit juices, black tea and alcohol do NOT count towards your fluid intake ..
