Acupuncture Points – Large Intestine 11 – the ‘Fridge Point’

This point is located at the outer edge of your elbow crease.

It is a great cooling point of the body indicated for sore throat, fevers, but also for certain headaches (exactly - when Heat is involved) and Heat-related pains in the body, including skin issues.

Being a point of the large intestine channel, it also regulates bowel movement. It is used for both constipation due to dry Heat or diarrhea from Damp-Heat.

As a local point, it is obviously indicated for all kinds of elbow complaints, such as tennis elbow and bursitis. But interestingly, it can be used as a ‘mirror point’ for other joints, such as shoulder or knee problems as well.
